MSNBC just got this release from the McCain campaign up on their website:
McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers adds in another statement: "Barack Obama's attacks on Americans who support John McCain reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn't understand regular people and the issues they care about. He dismisses hardworking middle class Americans as clinging to guns and religion, while at the same time attacking average Americans at McCain rallies who are angry at Washington, Wall Street and the status quo."

I assume the remarks referred to from Obama "attacking" McCain supporters are those ""Nothing's easier than riling up a crowd by stoking anger and division. But that's not what we need right now in the United States," as that line was mentioned in the above article and was a response to McCain supporters getting riled up and calling Obama a "terrorist" and calling out to "kill him!"
So...let me get this straight...McCain's camp is saying that Obama doesn't get "Joe Sixpack" because Obama isn't discussing the issue most important to that constituency-- that Obama should be assassinated for acts of/interaction with terrorism? And McCain has not condoned these remarks by defending those who made them, but has instead simply gotten in touch with his constituency? And that's OK according to Mr. Brian Rogers, et al?
Huh?
PS: I like "Peace, Love, and Understanding" a lot more than the situation led up to this subject line.
